In Bucharest rent is expensive and the city is very ugly. You don't need much, rent will suck the most. I recommend living in Transylvania. It' a beautiful region with wonderful cities. Here are links to my home city in the south of Transylvania that was the European Capital of Culture in 2007: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sibiu http://www.turism.sibiu.ro/index_en.php The rent in my town can reach up to 300 € max. In Bucharest is higher. With about 800€ a month you can live very well here and about 600€ for a decent living. Anything above 800€ and you are a rich man....
