Romanian GDP per capita is $8,400(that is 700$ a month) Compare to USA GDP of 42,000 (that is 3500$ a month) so the scale factor is about X5. So 600$ a month on Romania would be something like 3000$ a month in America. So it would be enough to decently exist but DEFINITELY not enough to live in luxury.

ive never heard luxury and romania in the same sentence, for $1,000 you could probably own the country.

No, you can't live a luxury life. Do you know the currency conversion and the amount of Romanian RNL you will get for your $600, according to today's rate, you will have about 2.7 times of $600 in RNL (1677 RNL). Looking at the very essence of living and life style that is the currency value, it seems you will have tough time living a luxurious life. However, let me give alternative examples, some of the Asian countries like India, China, Nepal and several other places the currency rates will be huge, you have to do your home work to find out?. If you don't like those coutries where you will get more local currency, then think twice!!!???. Having said about the very basics of it, the other issues are rooms or house to rent?, meals? clothes?, a car for transportation?. and whatever you need will all cost you accordingly. Then, if you want to live for couple of days, yes, you can live a luxurious life. If you go to china, you can live couple of months luxuriously with this money, provided you will not live in cities like Shanghai, it might cost you more. If I understood your question correctly, if your company offers you a living expenses of $600 a month with other allowances apart from your salary, oh yeah, pack up and move on, you might be able to live luxuriously, I wasted all those answers thinking, you are just having only $600 a month!?. Either way, do a home work on Romania such as how much a room rent will cost you, what is the tomato price, can you afford to rent or buy a car, what is the gas price etc... gluck

No, it wouldn't be a luxurious life...You'll be spending about 200 $ on food (especially if you're used to eating junk food). If you can and have the time to cook for yourself, this sum can be reduced to about 150$ a month - but you have to know some things (where to buy from, what to buy etc). The rent for a 2-room apartment in Bucharest is between 250-350$ and at least 100$ would go on the bills you have to pay on your home (in winter there will be higher bills to pay because of the heating). I assumed that you'll be living in Bucharest - life is more expensive here (compared to other cities in Romania) - you could live a decent life with 600$ in some of Romania's cities, but I'm not sure you could do that in Bucharest.
